
National Bank of Umm Al Qaiwain (NBQ) has appointed Mr.R.Ramachandra Iyer as the General Manager of the Bank. Mr.Iyer joined NBQ in 1998, during the last 10 years he has served in various posts in the Bank last of which was as the Deputy General Manager.
Mr.Iyer’s banking experience extends 34 years and prior to working in NBQ he held various senior positions in the following banks:-
Bharat Overseas Bank
Societe Generale Bank (France)
- Bank of Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait
- State Banking of India
Commenting on the appointment the Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Sheikh Nasser Bin Rashid Al Moalla said “Ram has been appointed to General Manager due to his financial and academic achievements coupled with his commitment to successfully executing the Bank’s conservative strategies which has served us through the turbulent waters of the recent financial crisis. This steered the Bank towards continued growth and development despite the strain felt by the international market during this downturn.” He added. “Ram has worked in harmony with the Bank’s senior management team which has greatly aided the Bank in achieving a majority of its strategic targets avoiding the adverse side effects of the recent global financial crisis which contributed to the slow down of the local economy, which is now showing signs of recovery”.
